[Hepatic abscess caused by Salmonella typhi].
A 64 years diabetic man presented with recurrent episodes of fever and abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed the presence of an abscess in the right lobe of the liver and a distended gall bladder with multiple calculi. Salmonella typhi was grown from the liver aspirate. Cholelithiasis may act as a predisposing factor for hepatic abscess formation in Salmonella carriers.

Splenic abscesses caused by Streptococcus bovis are rarely reported in the literature and are mainly seen in patients with endocarditis and associated colonic neoplasia/carcinoma. We report the first case of splenic abscess caused by Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus (Streptococcus bovis biotype II/2) as presentation of a pancreatic cancer.
